Why can't Alex and Manny

be written off already. I hate Alex. That character is so mean and bitchy. Alex was a bit tolerable as a kid but as she got older she got worse. As far as Manny, he is not needed anymore. He isn't as funny as he was as a kid and his scenes are painful to watch, although I did tear up a little when he did his real video essay. Hopefully this is a sendoff for Manny.

Can we add Lily to this list?

She's like fingernails on a blackboard.

Did anyone notice that Lilly stared straight at the camera for a split second...that was interesting and makes me ponder the inclusion of it in the show

They all (I think) do that from time to time - Phil and Haley the most, it seems to me. Are you saying this is the first time Lily has done it? I don't know exactly who has done it how often - one that sticks out in my mind is in the flashback when Phil is trying to get Jay to pronounce "Dunphy" correctly - near the end of that, Jay looks at us very briefly, almost (or actually) winks! The longest one I remember was when Phil had taken Haley to his college and was tracking her on his phone, he asks the guys he's drinking and playing darts with what is at a certain address - when they tell him it's a frat house, he stares at us for a very long time, then it cuts to him sprinting across the campus.

Phil also stared at the camera when Gloria thought he was mad at him for messing up his open house that she and Haley were supposed to help at in season 4. He hugs her but stares in the camera shaking his head mouthing "I don't know what she's talking about" or something to that affect. I LOVED when Jay stared at the camera and smirked when he was annoying Phil in that episode you mentioned. That was my first MF episode I ever watched

She's such a poor actress that it's hard to tell if it's following the mockumentary storyline or she just happened to look at the camera.

As an aside:
It's odd how that was the impetus for the show, the 'film crew following them around' thing that just sort of seemed to disappear except for the random break of the 4th wall, and usually done most often by 2-3 characters. Except for the random sit down during the episodes where the character basically draws us a map for their trip to looney town.

Maybe a story line that they've never even touched on- the camera crew following them around. Anything to stop the same, sad story lines regurgitated for the same, sad characters.

Ever notice how none of these characters ever grows in their actual character? As an example; Mitchell is still a snarky, selfish, cold and narcissistic personality. Most people start out like that but once they're married, then have children, it at least softens a bit and they become more empathetic, even just a little. He's so condescending to Cam that if these two were actual people and friends of mine, I'd encourage Cam to leave him, or get some couples therapy.

Just me? Okay then.

There was never a mockumentary storyline on this show.

Alex is unbearably annoying. She is a know-it-all who talks down to everyone else because they aren't as well read as her

In reality, she is unlikely to get a job as a scientist or engineer that will lag as much as her dad makes as a successful real estate broker in a major city or her grandfather made as an uneducated business man. She has no right to be so arrogant. She is a nerd, nothing else

Maybe they are trying to make her like the Big Bang theory?

But that's a win for the show! Remember Claire being worried that no one will ever like Alex because of her attitude? They delivered what they wanted

she was more than tolerable as a kid, she was funny.

From the first episode on I've disliked the Manny character. He hasn't improved with age.
Alex is acceptable but too one note for me.
Lilly is a terrible actress but they gave her some pretty damn funny lines but they seem to be moving that stuff to Joe and that's no help.
Luke is a non factor other than being a Phil clone

I loved Manny as a kid, it was funny to see he and Jay go back and fourth and Jay not understand why Manny won't act like a real kid.

Alex was bearable in the first two seasons as the smart Alecky young teen but then as the seasons went on she became rude, arrogant, and bitchy. I wouldn't be mad if she is written off.

It's hard to watch the Manny descent because he was such a great character as a kid during the first 4 seasons. Now that he is actually a teenager, he isn't funny. They honestly have no where for Manny to go in terms of character other than to send him to college and write the actor off.

Luke is still funny to me. I think he's a wild card in terms of future. He is definitely an idiot but I can see him C-ing his way through college and annoying people.

Id like to see Haley progress and be success at something but I think they are portraying her pretty realistically. She's only in her mid twenties and still finding her way. That's the story of so many young people that age.

I never particularly cared for the older Lily so it doesn't matter if she stays or goes to me.

Alex is supposed be that way. You aren't supposed to like her and that's a win for the show! Remember Claire being worried that no one will ever like Alex because of her attitude? They delivered what they wanted

Why do IMDb posters do that crap? ? "It annoyed me when Maya & Riley..." in Girl Meets World message board in the subject line and finish the subject question/observation/complaint/praise in the message body????

If you can't succinctly phrase it in a subject line [Like Twitter's 140 characters], maybe you shouldn't be *starting* threads.
