Dude, you need to start talking about men, we have illnesses too

I like Dr. Oz's, it's a good show, I learn a lot but as a man, I get a little annoyed that all of the show is geared towards women, and women only. The assistant of the day is always a woman, it's what WOMEN do in their day to get lung cancer, what WOMEN do wrong when they sleep, the best purse to relieve back pain. I mean, you have other people who watch your show and we have penises.

Maybe a show on prostate cancer, a show on balding, heart disease. Things that affect just men, things that affect men and women but men more, and what men do that may be hazardous to their health.

Many times, Dr. Oz does shows that are primarily aimed to both sexes, and, at times, Dr. Oz does do shows that focus primarily on men, wherein men make up the entire audience.

But, since it is mostly women who attend these shows, it's normal that subjects would be primarily geared toward women.

AND YES, I 100% love God and Jesus. Feels good, doesn't it; to have such a satisfying relationship with God.

I understand his demographic is women, but he really should expand it more. I personally have not seen a single show on men's issues. Perhaps I missed a few.

Thanks for the comment on my sig, you're the first person in about 4 years to speak positivly of it, I usually get the unwanted, and unwarrented "you're stupid for beliving in God" comment. Why people with no faith have to attack the faithful is beyond me.

You are brave for not giving into the faithless and removing your sig.

Unlike you, sometimes, in minor adversity, I shut my mouth instead of standing up for God, and I feel so guilty later. I love God very much, but sometimes I fear/wonder if -- in times of extreme adversity -- I will be able to stand up for God as a Christian.

I admire you.

reply

I sometimes fear I will also not be brave enough. I have stood up for God in the modern place of persecution, the halls of academia, there I have stood for God, and I like to think that if my life depended on it, I would also do the same.

I always remember this passage when I feel the way you have expressed;

"Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict." (Luke 21:10-15)

Let not your heart be troubled, I think in times of adversity, you will find the strength as God will give it to you.

I printed out the quote and now it is in my wallet. I plan to laminate it soon.

What a comfort you have given me.

Thank you so much!

do you really think heart disease only affects men?

reply

I agree, but do most men care about dieting and health? No, not many I'm fortunate my dad does but it's hard teaching my brother, because while he loves healthy food and playing active games outside, he also loves junk food and video games. Unfortunately most guys are like that. I guess most think it isn't masculine to care about how high your cholesterol is or how much you weigh.

Bone, it is what it is.
