Staged and Rehearsed Audience Members

I am absolutely convinced that audience members who Oz calls out on stage or speaks to in the audience seating area are planted and rehearsed. These people somehow always manage to say just the right things to elicit the informative response that Oz wants to get across.

There is absolutely no way that these schmoes consistently come up with detailed and cogent responses "off the cuff." I am convinced that these so called audience members are pre-selected and given lines to rehearse. Shows like this are entirely scripted, so I can only assume that the supposed candid comments of audience members are scripted and rehearsed for your viewing entertainment.

I guess that's just TV.

Absolutely -- yes, they're well rehearsed. Notice how every single on of them starts off with, "Dr. Oz, I was so...." They address him by name which no one would think to do if they were just "pointed to" and asked to stand up and make a comment. <would be too nervous to think of that.> there's probably a big cue card stand on the opposide side of the studio facing the audience member who's been asked to "share her experience" with the world of viewers.

Many of these daytime talk shows are staged. The media is fraud.
These hosts do about the same thing hypnotists do.

One of us would have to attend the show to find out.

I went to an Oprah taping and that was almost entirely scripted. I see no reason why Oz's show would not be, particularly since it, too, is produced by Harpo Studios.

Anyone can attend a taping. If you mean the audience members that appear on TV then they could script that but there is a wide range of questions and topics.
