Very similar to...
Atonement(although that was set in WW2) but not as good a story. Beautiful costuming and scenery though.

I liked both films but preferred Testament of Youth.
Atonement is beautifully-produced and acted but pales next to the superb novel. I will admit I haven’t read the book TOY - perhaps my view on the film would change if I did.
