why crows, specifically? why not pigeons or sparrows?

I just remembered this and it's bugging me.

I mean, is there an answer to this other than that crows are especially creepy?

Crows were mentioned as being a species that passed the mirror self-recognition test. I suppose that without a sense of self there isn't enough of a mind to be diverted forward (?).

Presumably elephants, dolphins and some primates also lost consciousness, but didn't fall to their deaths.

I just assumed it was because crows are considered "evil" or shouldI say represent evil and badness.

reply

It must suck to be an air-breathing under-water mammal and lose consciousness for 2 whole minutes.
