what happened with the president?

so, the president was either going to be kicked out of office or killed or something, and be replaced with the female vice president (according to the vp's flash forward) and then they never mention anything about it? not saving the president from an assassination attempt, or any change in office? i liked the show, but that seemed like real sloppy writing to me. i mean, they mentioned the president change in several different episodes....did this bother anyone else?

I assume that it's because they were canceled and didn't have time to wrap up every plot thread.

They changed the show runner like 2 times over the course of the first season... So yeah, sloppy planning / writing.

At the time I assumed that because the VP went to Benford and struck a deal and Wedeck then had the falling out with the Pres that the change in office happened as a result of the call Wedeck made where it was implied he was going for the VP's deal.

BUT.....

It kinda contradicted the Presidents Flashforward because when he had his he was still in office.

SO.....

I came to the eventual conclusion that the VP's FlashForward was not of her being president, she simply used the situation to enhance her position and scammed her way into office by recruiting Wedeck. In effect she bucked the trend of the FF's and changed the future by sliming her way into office.

Thats my theory anyway.

I think the President may have been involved in Jericho, who we now know was involved in the FlashForwards & what the VP saw was her signing documents in the oval office that would incriminate the President. There may have been an unstated "In my flash forward I was [about to become] President."

I just rewatched the show and I have to agree with you. That the current Pres is with Jericho and that whole thing with Tracy witnessing the test.
