Could of been the next 'LOST' of the new era

I just finished watching the last ten episodes of this show and the intense FINALE ..I cant beleive its cancelled. I know this show caught a lot of BS from people but I loved it. It was suspenseful, intriguing, mysterious unlike many of the redundant cop/medical/prison dramas or wanna be dramas that are on tv now. I think if it was given a second season it could have picked up . The first season I think it was struggling to find its nitche and was competing with a cultural phenomenon like LOST which was wrapping up many surprises of its own. But overall I think this show was excellent and with improved writing and a few strong additional actors here and there, it had the potential of being the next big hit. Once again, all due to timing and nothing else.

It has nothing to do with timing and FF was most certainly NOT competing with Lost. In fact, it benefited from having Lost as its lead-in. ABC tried to carry the Lost audience over to FF. What made FF fail were the weak characters. The show had its heart in the right place and had a few genuinely intriguing ideas every now and then. But it simply never had the great characters that Lost had. Many other shows like V or The Event had to learn the same lesson. An intriguing central mystery is not enough to keep the audience hooked. You need to make them fall in love with the characters above all.

I didn't like Mark, Olivia and Lloyd and could have lived without Aaron because his constant whining about his daughter got on my nerves at times but the other characters were good enough for me. Demetri, Janice, Vogel, Wedeck and especially SIMON were great characters! And that Gabriel dude was a riot^^ The medic and his love triangle story with Keiko was okay. And it was a pity that this one black agent killed himself, I liked him, too.
But yeah, having three leads that you don't care about is a problem.
