Stanley Kubrick References?

I love this film, and, although I've only seen a few of his films, I love Stanley Kubrick's work. So, when I was watching 'Submarine' I couldn't help but notice some similarities/references.
For example, there are the block-coloured titles that appear, similar to the opening of 'A Clockwork Orange.' There's also another part, before the 30 minute mark, when Oliver walks across a grim-looking area, with piles of rubbish scattered about. Again, this seemed somewhat reminiscent of a scene in which Alex DeLarge walks home.
Also, the landscape that surrounds Oliver's house, the hills covered in pine trees, with the deep valley... It reminded me of the opening credits of 'The Shining'. And then there's also a small part in the montage where Jordanna is wearing red, heart-shaped 'Lolita' glasses.
I could just be seeing references that don't really exist, but I was wondering if anyone else saw the same things?

I agree. I noticed the hospital corridor looking like id seen it before. Plus the end credits were like the end of A Clockwork Orange minus the Singin in the rain part.

All it needed now was when he lost his virginity it said he had finally had a bit of "In-out" lol
