Am I imagining things or anyone agree that there's Humorous references to the Shining ?
The "Chapter Headings" suddenly appear with simple Large letters accompanied by sudden "Orchestra Hit".
And the Dream where he goes to the hospital - the Camera moves down the corridors......
If so, Why? - Or Some sort of reference to the over dramatising the main chr indulges in ? (he sees his own life as a film) ?
Yes, I think it was alluding to The Shining. The cinematic references came rapid fire. I saw nods to Vivre Sa Vie, The 400 Blows, Don't Look Now, and Persona - such a disparate bunch I wonder what slipped by me.
And I agree that it was because Oliver thought of his life in terms of film. I actually thought it was a key to the movie's watchability.
