that night Jordana's mom was in the hospital, and he stayed at home with dad, went to the beach to find mom, and then broke into Graham's house, he could have accomplished everything much easier.
He cold have told his parents about Jude's operation, and got them both to go to the hospital with him to see her and Jordana. After all that would have kept his mum away from Graham, which his plan didn't, and made Jordana happy.

I liked how the movie did it. It was entertaining.

I liked it too but during that part, I kept saying, "Why doesn't he get his parents to take him to the hospital and help him keep Jordan and her mom company?"

If the movie went on like you suggested, the end wouldn't have been the same, thus the movie would have no sense.

Of course, it is a "what if" scenario. But it would have accomplished his goals for that night

Yes, he could have handled the situation as you suggest; however, he's a teenage kid. He doesn't reason as well as you do.

I think he was deeply torn between wanting to go to the hospital, feeling it was his *duty* to go to the hospital, and at the same time feeling deeply afraid to do so. That kind of emotional dilemma does not lead to clear thinking.
