It's like a Wes Anderson clone (it's been said before but I'm sayin it) and not a good one like The Squid and the Whale.

How come so many lapped this trie up?

Agreed. It was articistally interesting to watch, but the storyline and characters fell flat. Oliver Tate wasn't likeable at all, and I asked myself who am I meant to be rooting for?
