Good no nonsense action flick!

I don't understand why people are getting so frustrated with this film? It sets out to be exactly what it is and nothing more, which is a trashy 2 hour action packed popcorn movie. I like all sorts of film so when I want to see a in depth story or drama I'll watch "The Wolf of Wall Street" or "12 Years a Slave" (both of which are excellent by the way) but when I want aliens and mind numbing action I choose films like "Pacific Rim", "Battle: Los Angeles" and of course "Battleship". People need to stop comparing it to other genres. Oh and for all the people complaining about the ships hopping on water, may I say there are only so many times you can do world dominating alien films without them all being extremely similar. I thought the whole battleship spin off / water jumping alien spacecrafts gave this film a bit of a niche. I thoroughly enjoyed it overall.
