Doesn't the navy have a policy of keeping siblings apart?
Or is that only during war time? I realize this movie is not meant to be realistic or be taken seriously.

shareNavy policy remains the same now as in WWII: while siblings are not encouraged to serve together, exceptions can be made as long as the ship is not in a hostile firing zone.
Since this was a war game, and they weren't on the same ship, there was no problem with the brothers serving in the same action.
In war, victory. In peace, vigilance. In death, sacrifice.
