i love this movie!

For the critics of this movie I am very happy that they propped the Navy. I like the action, the use of Veterans and real Navy personnel. If you watch the behind the scenes you would understand the greatness of the film. Our Men and Women of the military need this 2 hour tribute! I will be watching it again tonight! ???

It has an honored place in my Blu-ray collection. Fire up the popcorn....its movie nite!

I was also very surprised how could a movie this good bomb the box office that bad.

It's a masterpiece ...

reply

A masterpiece? Is 23 your age or IQ? If you thought it was a good popcorn movie, more power to you. But the acting was horrible, the dialogue was laughable, and while I can see someone enjoying the action in it, it bombed at the box office because people hated it. I could see a 14 year old enjoying this piece of garbage, but for anyone to call this a masterpiece is a joke.

The bigger question is why you hate a movie so much..

Did it hurt your feelings?

reply

I didn't hate it. Actually, I thought it was fun to watch. My comments were related to anyone calling it the greatest movie ever made. No doubt I was out of line, and extreme in my response, but I didn't mind the movie.

How high does one's IQ have to be before they understand the concept of "opinions"?

I loved this movie too! I seriously don't understand the hate for it, it did what it was supposed to do, entertain us, and it showcased some fantastic special effects

reply

I'm watching this movie now. I just love it! I love alien invasion ovies and this is just a fun popcorn movie.

reply

This movie didn't seem like anything that would be my cup of tea. I avoid movies with explosions, and the reviews were just awful. But, Alexander is in it, so I began watching.

I loved it too! I don't know what this says about my intellect but I loved the awesome Navy stuff, the sappy romance, the "hero saves the world" story, the whole shebang.

It was fun, entertaining, cleverly made to include features of the Hasbro game (the movie was made by Hasbro) and the ending, with their last ditch effort, had me in tears I was so moved.

I LOVED BATTLESHIP! There, I said it on the Internet for all the world to see. I think I'll watch it again. Soon.

When I first heard they were making this movie, I was all YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS WITH THIS CRAP! COME ON!!!! Out of all the ridiculous ideas for a movie...But I really love Taylor Kitsch, so I thought I'd give it a shot. At least there would be some nice eye candy & cool SFX, yeah?

I love this movie like whoa. It's such a great popcorn flick. So much fun & highly entertaining. IDGAF that it's not all deep & meaningful. It's FUN!!!!! The SFX are great. There are some funny lines & some great action. Oh yeah...Eye candy!!!

I'm sorry that I didn't get to see it on the big screen.

It is not really a tribute, a subtle analysis would reveal that the american armed forces are the hostile ones and the aliens only responded in kind. The armed forces were the bad guys

Look inside yourself and understand the universe

reply

It is chewing gum for the eyes ... with a good deal of stimulant thrown in. A subtle analysis would truly show that the aliens were the antagonists, arriving as they did in battle-ready equipment and no attempt to communicate. Fair to say that the American armed services often have the habit of shooting first, but in this case it was clear that it could end badly, even before a trigger was pulled. Despite all of that, it could never be called a tribute to the American armed forces. Just damned good action.

There is real life ... and then there are movies!

reply

I like to think it was made ambiguous on purpose. It fits well if you view the whole movie as a satire, kind of like the Starship Troopers.

reply

yea, i also really enjoyed this movie, it was also light hearted fun and had the scifi i dont understand why this bombed either...

reply

Even though it was not terribly realistic, (I know, I know, it wasn't supposed to be) I liked it. It was a fun movie.

reply

If you can’t understand why this bombed, you're either 12 years old or have had a full frontal lobotomy; this movie is blithering, nonsensical idiocy.

reply

I think the movie is great entertainment. It was great seeing them use real Veterans, especially Retired Col. Gregory D. Gadson, an awesome man and soldier, former command of Fort Belvoir, VA. We're watching it right now.

reply

I love the montage with the crew and the vets getting the Missouri ready.

reply

Absoloutly love this movie.
