it does have some really great british comedians in the cast list. i'd love for jennifer saunders and dawn french to get roles, even if only cameo.

Am I the only one who's just really looking forward to seeing Jonathan Pryce possibly holding a vibrator while sharing a scene with Maggie Gyllenhaal? I don't know if that happens anywhere in the story, but I like imagining it. Stanley Kubrick could have done great things with a scene like that. I imagine this scene set in a Victorian hospital, of course, and there's wet linen hanging everywhere. Jonathan Pryce is wearing something with a heavily starched black collar that goes all the way up to his chin, looking very formal.

And I am looking forward to seeing Rupert Everett as one of the doctors, accidently inventing it. I hope he'll get a lot of screentime because he has a knack for comedy.

Have you seen Rupert Everett's face lately? I don't know if I want to see him have a lot of screen time if his face still looks pulled.

I'm hoping they can make light of this subject because just knowing the history behind how they treated women with hysteria, what they even thought hysteria was back then. God, it's just another mark against how women have been mis-diagnosed, mis-treated and used by men.

Even better than Stanley Kubrick-
