Is this an adaptation of the play on Broadway? I forget it's name

The play is Sarah Ruhl's "in the Next Room (or the Vibrator Play)", and as soon as I heard about this film I was wondering that too. Like, I literally just found out about this movie from an article on the homepage and my first thought was, Wow, rip off of the Vibrator Play much?

This was exactly my question, but I didn't see Ruhl's name under writer credit, so perhaps not? I feel though this already sounds extremely close to what the play was.
