'purely coincidental'
so at the end of the credits, there was the standard disclaimer "All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental."
now I realize the story was *loosely* based on fact, but it was still based on some truth: there was a Dr Granville, he did invent a vibrating machine (though he wasn't the one who started using it on women), it was (eventually) used on women for "hysteria" etc.
so why is that disclaimer necessary? or why isn't it reworded? I've noticed this on other "loosely based" on hisotry movies also, and I've wondered....
thanks, all!
