Has Rupert Everett suffered Bell's palsy, or too much botox?

It was a bit shocking to see his lip droop, and to see what appear to be dubs and 'shoot-arounds' for words with 'f' and 's' in them.
Hysteria is a year old, so I hope he's on the mend, whatever it was.

Being a big fan of Mr. Everett, I was puzzled by his appearance here, and the fact that he just didn't seem much like the same person. I also wondered about Botox, facial surgery (but WHY would he do that, with his gorgeous face?), or just weight gain (though that seems unlikely to bring about this change). Hadn't noticed the avoidance of certain consonants, but will watch for that when I see this later, on DVD (which I almost certainly will, as I want some friends to see it, and it's gone now from our local theaters). I hope I can see him a little more like his old self in new stuff.

Multiplex: 100+ shows a day, NONE worth watching. John Sayles' latest: NO distribution. SAD.

I wondered the same thing. He looked...odd.

He's playing a character and his full beard definitely helps disguise who he is. I didn't even realize it was him until the credits.

In my review I described him as playing a "camp version of Family Guy's James William Bottomtooth".

you know what he reminded me of in this movie? Gimli, from the lord of the rings. It kinda looked like he had a prostetic forehead and nose and fake eyebrows. His nose was definetely not his normal nose, and i can't imagine he had plastic surgery cause his nose used to look much more beautiful.
Anybody know if it was make up/prostetics ?

All anyone in film has to do is take a good look at Joan Rivers and know that plastic surgery should be avoided. I can't imagine being that vain or having self-esteem that is that low. Plastic surgery was developed to deal with war wounds and birth defects. Now the people who have it done look like they've suffered both.

I found myself wondering if he was wearing prosthetics. I certainly hope it's not plastic surgery. He was a handsome dude once upon a time.

I hadn't yet watched the movie when I read these comments so I went to Rupert Everett's IMDb page and even the picture there was telling. Apparently I've not seen him lately but could tell the face in that photo is heavily altered. See this article on his surgery: http://www.entertainmentwise.com/news/48045/rupert-everetts-shocking-plastic-surgery-transformation-picture.
