Dr. Robert Dalrymple 'treating' his own daughter ?

Based on the attitude of doctor performing the massage 'treatment' it was deemed no different to what a Obstetrician or Gynecologist would do? Did anyone ever think that since he 'treated' 'hysterical women' and his daughter was deemed 'hysterical' that would he ever suggest 'treating her' also....?

BTW: As Granville was so forward thinking on germs, I hope he sterilized the vibrator between using it on hundreds of women-especially after the prostitute....

Unclean is unclean. The working girl may have learned to take better care of herself versus the respectable woman who could have the same amount of sex or more sex with their husbands. Factor in the husband's sexual history since men felt they could do what they wanted and a married woman could have multiple partners without her knowledge.
As for the doctor treating his own, isn't there a code that doctors should not treat their family. How could they be objective!

Seeing as his daughter, Charlotte, seemed to be the only one who understood what was happening with these women (ie they were suffering from sexual tension due to unnattentive husbands and therefore a lack of sex) I doubt she would have allowed her father to administer 'the treatment'. mind you, having said that..I know a woman who's father is a gynaecologist and she's his patient.
