Condescending Contestants season 4

I love this show, or used to love it , not so much anymore... Is there really a need for it to be on EVERYDAY??? The show is soooooooo draggy too, they show everything, stuff that doesnt really matter, and don't get even me started about the pointless Master classes. The show should be shortened to 20 minutes or so if it really has to be on daily.

Also this season, i have noticed a major level of 'know-it-all' condescending contestants, i wont reveal names(i dont know all of their names anyway) but as a viewer u would think these ppl were already masterchefs(some of them).

Getting a little sick of the pretentious judges/chefs too, sure they have experience and probably wonderful references etc, for the most part they are fair, but they do sometimes act like they are the Queen of England the way they scoff at some food. You would think they were served a pile of s...manure.
In all fairness, most cooking show judges are like that, not just them.
I think the show is just on too much.
End rant.

I have been wondering if anybody else was going to post on this board. This use to be my favourite show. Season 2 was amazing especially.

This season just isn't doing it for me and its such a shame. Alot of that is the contestants i think. Bloody Mindy is driving me mad.

And don't get me started with the pointless Masterclass.

I did quite enjoy last nights episode though with Jamie Oliver.

Please keep posting it would be nice to know im not the only person watching this show.

You think the judges are pretentious? You think the competitors are *beep* You don't watch a lot of other cooking competitions, do you?

Personally I enjoy the master classes because even though I cook for a living, I learn things every time and the show is about cooking for me, not about who wins really.

Guess it comes down to taste. There are plenty other cooking shows out there. Maybe you'll find one you like more.

I think this season has been amazing so far, and much, much better than Season 3, which was god awful.

Great contestants, good challenges, most of the eliminations I have agreed with (the only one I didn't agree with was Dalvinder's) and the judges aren't as annoying.

It may just surpass Season 2 as my favourite season.

Err. why are you watching a cooking show if you don't like the masterclasses?

I recommend you watch the US version then. Fast paced, no master classes, also has pretentious judges (so no difference, right).

I love this show and I have ever since the beginning when I was only in year 10 of high school. I watch it religiously. I enjoy every moment. The thing that keeps me coming back is that each and every year I feel like these people are an extension to my family. It's not like any other reality program where everyone is competitive and tries to win. These people want to learn.

I don't think there needs to be a reason to complain that it's on everyday. I always love to watch it when it's on but I prefer to watch what I feel like. I usually skip the celebrity chef challenges to do other things. Sometimes I skip the masterclasses on a Friday night (I still love them though. Always nice to gather a few tips). But either way I always come back for the contestants and the food.

I find this season much better and more improved than the previous season. I really did not enjoy the previous season. I found that there was a lack of character and flair. The only person I kept watching last season for was for Hayden.

Season 2 was the best in my opinion. Less drama, more simplified and better range of talent.

One of the things that pissed me off in the previous seasons is how contestants that did not deserve to go left early. And that's all part of the competition I guess. But I was glad that in this season while the contestants are more loveable and there is more character, I can see that those deserving are still in the competition (Ben, Andy, Amina, Audra, Mindy, etc.). I was happy when Emma left instead of Ben. I thought Ben deserves so much and I honestly thought Emma would win it.

I guess it all comes down to how you like your 'dish'. You could have the banquet of Masterchef Australia, enjoying even the smallest moments and the camaraderie of contestants. Or you could swallow the pill and watch Masterchef US. I saw the US version and was heavily disappointed as it definitely does not showcase the spirit of Masterchef at all. With the Aussie version, I felt empowered to cook in my own kitchen. With the US version, I felt like me cooking was a crime.

But why not just watch what you feel like? No need to dedicate time to it each day (even though I do). Don't feel like watching it? Then don't. Watch something else or do something else than watch TV. Problem solved! :)

Agreed completely. The Aussies must have nothing better to do. This show is long drawn out. I don't watch every episodes, skipped the Masterclass. I prefer the US version and this season they had Christine, a blind cook, that is cooking the pants off the others.

Hypocrites of the show must go to Audra. Deep down she was glad Kylie went instead of her and she lived to fight another day but she really put on an excellent act, a sad faced puppy look for Kylie, in addition to the hug. She is a one dimensional cook and should have gone long ago. Aminah was much better than her but got unlucky with that dish that sent her home.

I love this show!!! Compare it to Hell's Kitchen where they are only fighting, yelling and smoking.. there is very little about cooking and teaching you techniques in that show. On the other side, MC Aus is more friendly and you can see that these home cooks who are less experienced than the HK experienced cooks, can cook way better!

What I don't get is this: with all the "competition" shows out there, why stick with a long one about food when you obviously care only about seeing people fight each other and not about food. Just watch something else. Not every show is made for everyone. You enjoy the hair pulling/insult slinging/nail biting drama, stick with the American shows, cooking or otherwise. Simple as that.

And your need to add that Christine was "a blind cook" is exactly why people are questioning her win. Her cooking has nothing to do with her blindness. But it works for showbiz, doesn't it?
