More 'blue tinted' horror?

So many of these american remakes of Japanese horror like the Ring or the Grudge have been cranked out that they seem generic and formulaic, and there is always this damned blue tinge on the screen like they use a blue lens in front of the camera.

Word on the street was they actually had an orange tint to the film. But when they saw Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, they lol'ed and went blue instead.

I don't know if this is a direct remake of a Japanese horror flick per se, but I did see 3 Japanese Horror Influences:
1-Girl going through wall - reminds me loosely of, "Silent Hill 4";
2 - The Ghost Girl - reminds me of the Japanese horror staple called yurei;
3 - The moldy looking stuff on the ceiling - reminds me, again of something I recall seeing years ago, when I first played, "Silent Hill 4", on the PS2.

Actually the lush, fully saturated cinematography is the best feature of the movie. It's beautifully shot. Such a pity that the plot completely fails to hold together or make any sort of sense.

^ I agree really beautiful shots and beautiful sets. The plot, characters and acting though YOWZA!
