Why are some people so confused about this film? *spoilers*

The entity's nature was to destroy the humans' spirit, to destroy their hope, and feed on their fear. To break them down.
Everything the entity did was to accomplish this, including showing her her boyfriend being consumed by the evil.

Another example, the dog died because it mattered in a way to the Ashley Greene character. She was a vet tech and loved animals, and the dog was visiting her.
That's why the cactus died too, because the female character liked it.
The entity did everything it could to destroy their spirits, break them apart & down.
At the end of the film, her mind was all but gone, her spirit completely broken. She went to Costco's tents because it was a good memory of when she went camping with her dad, felt safe. And she had a recent good memory of discussing camping with her now-lost boyfriend.
We see that she finally did give up, they broke her spirit at last. And it/they took her.

The film implies this is only the beginning. Now that they're here, they will continue to take more and more humans. The film needed a tighter script, and more action, but the premise of it was very good and very chilling.
The ending and its IMPLICATIONS (see ending of: 'In the Mouth of Madness') is hair-raising.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

Are Costco tents good?

The acting was passable. But the script was so chopped up they aren't given much to do. it pissed me off because you could tell soo much was cut out of the feature. I wish the Director had full reign over the movie.

As for the acting It's made clear that Kelly and Ben are a new couple. They have not been together that long. They had recently moved in together. Hence why I felt like their Chemestry was a bit awkward in some parts. I really liked the special effects, musical score, and cinematography alot. Hope the Director moves onto bigger and better things.

That makes it just a generic pseudolovecraftian movie. The premise implied in the trailer--that our own fears and belief create the apparition and empower it--was infinitely more interesting. Unfortunately that was scrapped in favor of a poorly developed, unsatisfying generic approach. Sad because it had potential.

Requiescat in pace, Krystle Papile. I'll always miss you.

I free it was actually really creepy and Great minutes the forced acting, but bc people don't understand things and can't use their own brains when a writer/director leaves things open for your own interpretation then people are quick to exclaim how awful and stupid the movie is when it is them that is stupid, if you don't get something don't write it off as stupid try watching it over! So thanks for explaining it to the idiots out there who couldn't understand so a different and genuinely creepy movie that was much better than all the found footage crap of today's films!
