What exactly happened at the end?? What it just her that died or did the whole world die as well? Given the number of hands molesting her and the ever increasing power levels of energy they were using to counter whatever they were fighting, I'd say it backfired and touched off the apokalypse.
Why would you think the whole world died? Maybe eventually, as the beings came more and more into our world, but not at the end of the film.

The rest of the world's fine (for now). She's the one that disappeared. She's in purgatory. Or in a different dimension, like Stephen King's Langoliers.
The entity is still out there, but it will pursue more victims at a much slower pace. (I suppose little Margaret and her dad are next.)
Not necessarily. The apparition is clearly a Lovecraftian being from another dimension as mentioned in the story and 'alters reality'.
It's quite possible the breakthrough of the entity created a new kind of reality (a Lovecraftian hell where normal physical laws don't apply). It certainly does for those affected.
That's how I understood and enjoyed the film.
