Just Watch Pulse *spoilers*

This movie was not ,by far, the worst horror movie I have ever seen , but it was dreadful. I have seen both the original Japanese (Kairo) and American remake of Pulse and this movie is a bastardization of these well scripted , very well acted movies.

Plot:
Kids at a college do hi-tech experiments and pull something from another dimention into ours

Antigonist:
Creature or creatures who steal your will to live until you just 'give up' and they suck you into their realm - apparently through black mold covered walls and floors

Protagonist:
Reluctant female who has nothing to do with the original experiment but who's boyfriend gets her involved and now she must find a way to save herself and her friends before it is too late

Ending:
As the beings / entities absorb our life essence they become stronger and there are more of them coming , they are unstoppable and there is nothing we can do to save ourselves

Summary:
Both movies Pulse and The Apparition are almost the same , right down to the lines "What do they want?"-"They want what they don't have , life". In my opinion just watch Pulse and stay happy , The Apparition is the ugly younger brother that should have been kept in the attic.

Agreed.

I felt it just randomly spliced together scenes and concepts from other recent horror films - including Pulse for the reasons you listed, but also The Ring and The Grudge.

It's as if the filmmakers just said, "This scene worked in The Grudge - let's throw something similar in here."

I thought The Apparition was better than Pulse.

At the beginning, I thought it was a prequel to Pulse because of the obvious similarities.

Basically, they contacted the first evil entity and let it into our world, and that's what this movie would be about. It would end with all of them dying and then the evil entity would move on to guide other people to continue the process. Then in Pulse, scientists kind of widen the door and allow more of these entities into the world to the extent that they take over.

So the Pulse entities wouldn't have even been in our world to be contacted the way they were in Pulse without the experiments from this movie making the first contact.

But I guess it's just a poorly executed ripoff.
