(Spoiler) 2 questions on the ending.

1. Why was hottie Sebastian Stan only halfway through the wall?

2. Why were costco tents considered a good hiding/accepting of death location?

My guess on #1 is so the GF would know what happened to him and increase her terror. #2 is because she loved camping...? Sorry, that's the best I can do.

The BF was still being pulled to the other world so that made it look scary. And the tent at the end was a nice touch because she went on about it in the beginning. The Costco and tents were just a sad interpretation of the end for her.

I'd guess the entitity wanted her to show that resistence is futile and the tent was from a time she felt happy and safe with her dad.

1. It was showing her what was happening to her boyfriend to further break her spirit. That's what it/they wanted, to break her spirit, her hope, to feed on her.

2. She went there because her mind was already gone, her spirit completely broken down. What was left of her mind remembered how she had loved camping, felt safe there, and had memories of discussing camping with her now-lost boyfriend.
She went there, and when the evil came, she surrendered.

I think she was already dead when she went into the Costco. I think the apparition got her in the forest, and you are seeing what it looks like when you get pulled in to your personal hell or purgatory.

I was nearly asleep by that part, but I recall it being black and white and there being no cars or people around in the parking lot in the daytime at Costco. She found a place in her hell to sit while the hands go to town on her. She definitely had accepted her fate at that point, but I don't think she was hiding.
