Everything I've seen has made this sound like the worst film ever, nothing but a knock-off with no plot. Is there anything good in it, visually? Anything?

I thought it looked good in general, and I like the idea of horror in the desert, a lot of cool possibilities there with spooky lighting. But this just did not work well, plain and simple.

No. Nothing about this crap is good. It makes not an ounce of since, it's utterly pointless. Do yourself a favor & save the time on something more worthwhile
It is beautifully shot with good f/x and Tom Felton and Sebastian Stan gave very good performances

sharetomandandy's score is pretty great and has a unique feel to it. Some beautiful shots of the Palmdale area it's set in, the couple that the film centers around is pretty likable, the movie features alot of nightmarish imagery that offers a good look at what people that have given accounts of their experiences with things like sleep paralysis have gone through.
It's much better than it's given credit for.
