The Rock - the Charles Bronson of the new millennium?

OK, Charles Bronson was shorter than The Rock, but they are both taciturn muscular action-men who make entertaining revenge movies. Try "Chatos Land" , "Mr Majestyk", "Death Wish" for comparisons with this movie.

Although both actors played simple men, one difference is that Bronson's characters tended to be cunning enough to avoid detection by the authorities. The Rock didn't care about detection, as long as he successfully committed the murders.

Liam Neeson is the new Charles Bronson.

The Rock was supposed to be the new Arnie. He isn't.

And he doesn't have to be. He's a credible and entertaining actor in his own right.

Neeson is becoming Charles Bronson, I agree. I remember when Rock was supposed to be the next Arnold, I think with all these new action movies, he's back on track to being a mix of Arnold & Bronson respectively and adding his own charisma to these characters.
