i havent researched very much about it, but is the tattoo the rock has a real tattoo? obviously he doesnt have that really tattooed on his body but does the tattoo actually mean anything? kenny ( other big dude ) seemed really freaked out about it
shareI believe the tattoo was like a count of the amount of people that the driver injured or maimed while in prison. Notice at the beginning how one guy was missing an arm and another an eye. The tattoo was meant to make anyone who wanted to come after him in prison think twice because it was a visual reminder of those who had tried the same thing and failed.

There's a scene where (Carla Gugino) is describing to (Billy Bob) who this person is, she said he made a lot of money selling contraband in prison and wasn't affiliated with any gang. So when other prisoners came after him, he would "knock them down" one by one (and he kept the tally on his arm). She later says the Warden told her that all he had to do was flash that tat and people would get out of his way.
I wonder how many marks on this tat did it take for others to get the hint?
