The Killer's personality?

I wonder if the killer character seemed to have been different from other killers since he did seem to have conscious especially with Lily who seemed to be his voice of reason and wasn't really in it for the glory but rather the respect or honor.

He was not taking his meds so he probably goes,a little nut job when he is off of them.

I assume you meant conscience?

Lily wasn't much of a voice of reason. She was actively supportive of Killer's hobby up until Killer married her and dangled the prospect of an actual life in front of her.

And yeah, Killer was definitely in it for the respect, which just goes to show how much of a nutball he was. If becoming a contract killer without caring who your targets are is your means for gaining respect, you are worse off than having issues! He was nothing more than a rotten little punk who wanted to be a badass. I get that with his background, he felt like he had a lot to prove. But sane people don't take up murder for hire to prove themselves.

I agree.
Killer didn't seem to have much of a conscience to me - he didn't even care about who his targets were.
He was definitely in it for the respect; he even explicitely tells that to Driver. Plus we clearly see what his childhood consisted of, making him so desperate for self-success.
