The Rock must be having steroids for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!!

The size of him is just not natural at all; it is very clear he has been on steroids

Do also keep in mind he was actually quite a bit bigger when he was a wrestler.

That, and he had to put on a shed of weight (and then tone) for this role. Further, he has given advice to Hugh Jackman on how to do the same for the upcoming Wolverine movie (I believe Hugh is on a 6000 calorie a day diet - almost fatal amounts if done wrong)

Plus he's part Samoan, who are known for living large, body-wise. *cue PC police*

Yes he is using steroids, that amount of muscle mass (with relatively low bodyfat %) is not attainable naturally. But he is not alone in using steroids, plenty of peope take them thesedays. It's very common amongst the 'bodybuilder' types.

hahahah did u just try and say that professional wrestlers dont use steroids

reply

Rock admitted to taking Steroids for a very brief period at college.

However, he now does a lot of work educating kids on the perils of drug and steroid abuse and is an active campaigner against them

Some of these responses are so ridiculous, I almost can't believe they're serious.

"(I believe Hugh is on a 6000 calorie a day diet - almost fatal amounts if done wrong)"

6000 cals a day is no where near a "fatal amount" if done wrong. It's a near fatal poop at the end of the day maybe, but that's about it. You'll get fat if your macro balance is off, yes, but it's not impossible to take in 6k cals a day if you're a bodybuilder/gaining mass. I know people who do it, and they're not on steroids.

"You can tell people who stick steroids up there bum. They look fake and very liquidy."

Lmao, I don't even know where to start. They look fake and very liquidy? No, I believe that's a result of improper use of site enhancing oils (SEOs). A commonly known SEO is "Synthol" which is designed to be used in combination with AAS (Anabolic androgenic steroids) in order to allow sufficient room for muscle growth by stretching the fascia surrounding the muscle.

However, the "instant" effect of Synthol and other SEOs has resulted in it being used much like muscle implants, to mimic the effect of extensive hypertrophy without doing any work in the gym. This is especially popular in South America, but definitely not exclusively limited to that region.

This results in disgusting, deformed and watery looking muscle groups. That said, proper use of site enhancing oil will not stand out.

As far as actual indicators that someone is juicing? Usually the first muscles to noticeably increase in size are delts and traps. This is due to the higher amounts of androgen receptors found in these muscle groups.

Also, you don't have to inject in your bum. ;)

He couldn't be a professional wrestle if he was on steroids? My friend, you must have gone full retard if you think there isn't an enormous amount of steroids and other drugs being passed around in professional wrestling circles.

--

As far as The Rock being on steroids, he came off when he stopped wrestling, hence the lost mass/weight, but if he had to gain a huge amount of lean body mass in a short period of time (for this film, for example) he could have very easily used AAS. Did he? Who's to say, I'm not really that interested because it honestly doesn't matter. The sheer ignorance when it comes to steroid usage in the general public is what disturbs me, don't believe everything you hear on the news. Do some independent research.

And no I'm not on steroids lol, I'm just an avid weightlifter who will probably start juicing later. It always pays to know your stuff first right? :)

BTW there are far worse drugs than steroids, even in the bodybuilding/weight lifting community. Peptide use (namely, human growth hormone and especially insulin) can lead to large, distended stomachs you see on most bodybuilders today. Just sayin'

This. Many people are incredibly ignorant towards this subject, yet they try to feign knowledge. I was coming on here about to post a reply, but it looks like you addressed most of the fallacies. Also, "fake and liquidy"... cmon man.

Best response I have seen on one of these topics

Thanks for that, an excellent and informative response.

Like Stallone and Schwarzenegger back in the day and guys like The Rock and John Cena now, they all do it, at the very least periodically to get in shape for a movie or event. Big deal, I don't care if they want to do that.

All I have to say is "Yum".

being a big rock fan back in the day he was definitly bigger when he wrestled but now its like he's leaner and more cut instead of being big and swollen look most wrestlers now a days have

reply

I was surprised by the size of him. I read a while ago he wasn't going to work out so much so he'd get more serious roles or whatever, but in this films he's a beast lol.
