Too much about Bo's love life?

I did enjoy the first few seasons of the show, but I really think they focussed too much on Bo and who she should be with. I felt like this became the main focal point within the show and the weekly mysteries really suffered. It wasn't enough that there was Dyson and Lauren, but then they had to add Tamsin into the mix because "everyone" falls in love with Bo. I hated the Teams that were created due to the relationships and I found it really made a lot of fans negative towards one another. It really reminded me of LOST with the Jack/Kate v's Kate/Sawyer. It just diminishes my enjoyment of the show when it is all about who is with who.

When I rewatch shows like The X-Files and Buffy, they had interesting stories that kept me wanting to see more. They also dealt with monster's of the week, but it was just written better and wasn't over shadowed by Triangle or square relationships.

That seems to be the case with a lot of shows, unfortunately. I stopped watching Bones and Castle! Both shows started off about the stories but then morphed into putting the stories in the background and bringing the characters' love lives to the forefront. With Bones it was really bad.

Well, the show's protagonist is a Succubus - so eventually her love life will always take precedent.

Silence is Golden and duct tape is Silver

I agree. I tend to lose interest if a show concentrates too much on the dating/relationship angle and not enough on other story lines. I also don't like when characters are just thrown together because they "should" be together. Sometimes it's nice for everyone to just have friendships instead of relationships.

That being said, I have always loved Bo and Lauren together, though, and actually didn't mind the Bo/Tamsin thing, but I've never been a fan of Dyson.

I completely agree with what you said about The X-Files and Buffy. They had relationships, but there was always so much else going on, story-wise, that those shows didn't seem to get too bogged down with all the characters' love lives.
