- - the ratings for Lost Girl would not have dropped as drastically as they did.
Ep #5.9 ("44 Minutes to Save the World") is one of the best episodes this series has cranked out. Getting Eric Roberts to play Hades was a masterstroke.
I'm not going to reveal what happens in it and spoil it for those who haven't seen it ahead of its official premiere on the Showcase channel, but how I wish there had been more of this than what we were served with Season 4 - - which I've nicknamed Lost Season.
If they can maintain the pace and intrigue throughout all the remaining 8 episodes, Lost Girl will ride off into the sunset tall in the saddle.
P.S.
For a niche genre Canadian TV series such as Lost Girl, Anna Silk was a once-in-a-lifetime find.
I found the episode to be a bit boring, actually. Eric Roberts is a genius addition to the show and really the only reason the episode was as good as it was. The rest was just tying up the "cliffhangers" from the last episode and most of them were just hand waved away. Oh, Tamsin's not dead? Well... just because! No reason given. Nothing. And Bo just spends the episode walking around sniping at Hades and pushing all of her issues onto Iris.

Are you serious? I personally feel that ep #5.9 is one of the worst episodes this show has ever had. Hades getting out of his prison was a huge let down, because he practically did nothing. Heck, if I was some all powerful being that had just gotten out of being imprisoned for millenniums I'd be chucking my powers around like a child's play thing and blowing s**** up left and right. The same goes for Zeus, (or as I've dubbed her: whiny little b****). If I had Zeus' power I would be zapping people with lightning left and right, not arguing with them over petty stuff.
The Morrigan (when she still had her powers) was a way better villain than these so called Fae "gods". All Zeus, Hera, Hades and Iris ever seem to do is get into an argument with somebody. *Cue the soap opera music.* Honestly, this show has degraded a lot with season 5. reply share
