First Impressions: Judgement Fae
Alright, I actually managed to watch this episode in a timely manner. A lot happened in it, so here are some of my initial thoughts:
- It was nice to see Zee back to doing evil again, I find her entertaining.
- Looks like she is gone for awhile now though, so that's a little disappointing.
- I was happy to see Dyson moving on from Bo with Alycia. He's been hung up on her for too long.
- It didn't last long though did it though? Dyson is like a living reflector of happiness, he always gets so close to it, but it gets taken from him (or he sacrifices it) right before he is able to get it.
- 2nd episode in a row with no Mark, I approve.
- NOOOOO!!!! The relationship stuff was so close to ending: Lauren and Bo were together, Dyson had someone, Tamsin got over Bo, than Lauren has to go and end things...again, and Jack has to go mess with Tamsin. We were so close.
- I get that communication isn't exactly the easiest thing, but if these characters spent as much time talking too each other as they did trying to avoid doing so, they'd save themselves a lot of heartbreak.
- While I wanted Lauren to become human again, I thought it would take longer and involve more work.
- Surprised her possession by Zee didn't last longer either, when it was first revealed I thought it was going to be something major.
- Is Lauren's hospital right next to the court house? How the hell did Hera get there so quick?
- Jack, or Hades, is still a great villain. I'm really looking forward to what his plan is.
- The end was rather confusing. Did Jack possess Bo? or does he have the ability to imitate people? Why sleep with Tamsin? Just to mess with Bo's friendships? Seems rather petty. Get back at Tamsin for being snarky with him? Maybe, again it seems petty.
I think this episode's fate will be decided by how it is followed up on by subsequent episodes. It featured big moves, which I enjoy, but I didn't like some of the directions it took our characters. Not happy Bo and Lauren broke up, as I've long said I don't really care who Bo ends up with, but this got tiring 2-3 years ago. I still maintain that they should have stayed together starting in Season 3. Wasn't happy that Dyson lost another love either, but it was nice seeing him be his honorable self and step aside quietly. A lot happened in this episode, and it set up potentially even more stuff, and it was entertaining. My initial grade is a B.
