Uhmmm, Wow
Well that got intense real fast. Jeez.
It's party time, all the time 😎
I agree. I felt like I was watching a horror movie for a bit there, not thrilled about that ending at all.
shareI think the "lightening" of Lost Girl after Season 1 made some fans forget how horrific and shocking the series was originally intended to be.
In the pilot for the show, Vexed (1x08), Vex forces Siegfried to torture and kill himself. We saw Siegfried futilely resist putting his hand inside the garbage disposer and turn it on. We saw his body on the floor with arm chewed up. We hear that his heart was cut out while he was alive.
This is the pilot that was presented to Showcase and which the channel green-lit.
The "family portrait" scene returned Lost Girl to the underlying concept for the series.
It's been a while since I watched Season 1 but you are right, it was originally much darker. In my opinion, Season 1 was the best because they were trying to base stories and characters on true Fae mythology. As the seasons progressed, it became more like a campy soap opera where the characters just happened to be Fae.
shareSeason 1 is the only season I would call 'Quality TV'. Season 2 may have been good too if they hadn't had the extended season. I enjoyed the first half of season 3 but it went downhill quick. Mind you I still enjoy the show, but more as a campy bit of fun rather than something with a whole lot of merit. I think they should have stuck to the procedural format for longer. It was only 5 seasons...
I did love the introduction of Tamsin though. I always forget she hasn't been in the show for the whole time.
