First Impressions: Let Them Burn

Alright, I just finished Lost Girl's penultimate episode so time for some thoughts:

- Got to see Lou Ann again, which was nice I guess, considering she was in the show's original pilot. Didn't get any real new info from her though, most of what she said we already knew, except that Trick hired her to save Aife.

- Evony is handling her illness well, she wasn't in that much of this episode but had some nice lines anyway: "Well, I needed somebody to shovel the *beep* was classic Morrigan.

- Kenzi being back is nice I guess, though she still doesn't have much to do, which is too bad.

- Mark is still being given too much screen time.

- It is somewhat fitting that Dyson was the one to finally get the Light and the Dark to start to come together. Since the show mostly abandoned the Fae world a few years back, this isn't as interesting or important as it would have been.

- Hopefully Vex can talk again next episode, he's no fun mute.

- I understand that Bo is trying to trick Jack by making him think she's evil, but what she did was maybe a little too far. Supposedly those are the people she cares about more than anyone, and she could have killed them.

- Oh, and she found out she was the Pyripuss, which didn't surprise me.

I wasn't a big fan of this one, it was kind of boring to be honest, especially since it is the show's 2nd to last episode. So I expected more from it. I think they tried to hard on the "Bo turning bad" thing, and the Pyripuss reveal was kind of lame. I'll give this one a C. Looking forward to seeing how the show is wrapped up next week, hopefully nicely, but I'll settle for entertaining.

I liked the episode. Not so sure Bo was acting. Her eyes went blue right?

I hope the stick the landing next week, the few episodes have been quite well made and have been pulling long forgotten plot lines together to tie up lose ends. Not sure what they are doing with Tamsin though. I hope she doesn't just die but can't imagine her being a mother either.

This maybe way out from left field but this is my GUESS how it might end.

Big fight between Good and Evil. In the end the Pyripuss is separated from Bo and defeats Hades. All the Fea are sent to Myth. This might be fitting because we all assume they are myths anyway. Bo either dies or somehow is turned human by seperating from the Pyripuss. Tamsin dies giving childbirth and Lauren, Kenzi, and maybe Bo are left to raise the baby.

I'm not sure I'll be satisfied with any ending. I wanted so much more from these last few episodes. I wanted to be sitting on the edge of my seat. But I'm having a hard time caring how it all ends.

Big fight between Good and Evil seems like a given at this point, unless they really want to irk their fans.

Unless they go really dark on us, I assume this is correct too. Not sure if Hades will die or just be imprisoned again, however.
Bo either dies or somehow is turned human by seperating from the Pyripuss.
That would be a very bold stroke. While I too hypothesized, a few months back, that Bo may not survive, it's still radical enough that it seems unlikely to me. Anna Silk did say that not everyone will like the finale however. Never thought of the becoming human thing though, it would allow her to have a life with Lauren.
Tamsin dies giving childbirth and Lauren, Kenzi, and maybe Bo are left to raise the baby.
I could see this happening, not saying I'd like it, but I could see it.

I'm with you here too. I'm aiming for "good enough" right now, for the finale. The last few episodes haven't lived up too expectations either, I wasn't expecting anything grand, but I did think there would be more fireworks and suspense. I still care how it ends, but I'm not really anxious about it.

did anyone catch the way evony was eyeing kenzi's ring or am I reading too much into that stare.

reply

She is human now, and Kenzi owes her a favor since season 2 (i think). She could probably ask for that favor back now.

reply

I didn't think of that when I first watched it, but that is possible. Evony would certainly not be the type to like being claimed.

On a related note, I wrote a post over a year ago about that favor Kenzi owes Evony (it was Season 2, Episode 15), and how I thought it was an interesting possible storyline that was being wasted. It's obviously too late to do anything big with it now, but I will be very disappointed if they don't at least bring up the favor in the next episode.

reply

If we're being honest, a lot of possible story-lines that could've been very interesting were not followed... the biggest one being Doccubus 😂

reply

Personally, the biggest wasted storyline that should have been pursed was a war between Humans and Fae. It could have been epic more so then this stupid Hades storyline. Bo being forced to "choose again" between human and fae. Doccubus could have factored into that as well.

Have to agree, it was not what we expected, given the fact that there is one more episode left. I absolutely agree that Mark has too much screen time, although I can say the same thing for Tamsin (in general) - have in mind that I actually like her as a character. I sort of miss Bo, her story will feel like rushed in the end, and they had 5 seasons to tell it properly. They should've used Lou Ann much much earlier, don't get me start on the whole horse thing... I really hoped that in the end Bo would get what she always dreamed of - you know the picket fence and normal life - the things she wanted so much in the pilot. Bo's character has changed through the years for the better, but deep down she is still the same person we met 5 years ago.
What I'm more intrigued is the fact that in the very end of this episode when Kenzi said that Bo must be upstairs, Lauren said that she wasn't.. Sooo, she either knows something or.. I don't like to make any assumptions, since the show never makes any logic anyways 😀

I guess we all kind felt the same... I am just scared all my questions won't be solved by the end of the show, like:

-Is Evony getting her powers back (I really hope so)
-Is Lauren gonna keep being human and dying before all the faes? I guess she's also not ending up with Bo. Who's gonna be the smart-geek-fae life saving after her? (I guess that wanting to know that is a little too much :D)
-If Bo is gonna rule the Fae world, what else will Kenzi do? just keep coming and going? they won't need to be investigating that much anymore... I mean.. who's gonna dare not fearing Bo!?

I just didn't want the show to be over.
