The "heroes" appear to be more despicable than witches are, imo. Do the producers think the Salem Witch Trials were good for America? Bunch of sick people behind this cheesy flick.

shareThe film goes out of its way to be unrealistic. Its witches are fantasy monsters loosely based on folklore. They have nothing to do with either Wiccans or the innocent folk judicially murdered for the imaginary crime of "witchcraft" - which also have nothing to do with each other.

If someone uses a witch's "curse" in the middle ages for the purpose of extortion how is that different to me holding up a store with an unloaded gun? The threat is real enough for the victim. I have no doubt that "innocent" women were hung for practising witchcraft but if someone has used contemporary beliefs to threaten people and spread fear then they were effectively guilty of what they were accused of.
