Offensive To Real Witches

The "heroes" appear to be more despicable than witches are, imo. Do the producers think the Salem Witch Trials were good for America? Bunch of sick people behind this cheesy flick.
Evil comes from our government, not from practicing Wiccans.

Bruce Lee was real. Batman was never real.

none of the witches looked heavier than a duck so it was probably a fair cop.

What the hell are you on about, mate?

The film goes out of its way to be unrealistic. Its witches are fantasy monsters loosely based on folklore. They have nothing to do with either Wiccans or the innocent folk judicially murdered for the imaginary crime of "witchcraft" - which also have nothing to do with each other.

This thread proves that the Christians who cry wolf about persecution, whenever someone removes a cross or similar symbol from a US municipal building, aren't the only religion who can claim this. This thread can be used to deflate those Christians' arguments and I'm thankful this thread exists.

Dude, the movie is portraying "real" witches. Not the dumbass Wiccan version.

LMAO @ real witches

Never mind that this story is about killing evil witches...and the hunters even get to learn about good witches.....and there is nothing in this story about Wicca (who did not exist during the time period of this film anyway)

reply

No real witches were ever tried, they killed innocent people. Witches aren't real.

You don't need to have magical powers to practise witchcraft. If someone uses a witch's "curse" in the middle ages for the purpose of extortion how is that different to me holding up a store with an unloaded gun? The threat is real enough for the victim. I have no doubt that "innocent" women were hung for practising witchcraft but if someone has used contemporary beliefs to threaten people and spread fear then they were effectively guilty of what they were accused of.
