Not quite a buddy movie - SPOILERS
But buddy-ish in the charisma and chemistry Clooney and Pitt have, playing off each other, being rivals while also getting in too many to count funny lines and sidelong looks at each other's expense. And the kid's (Austin Abrams) mad dash from June's house (the ultimate fixer), wearing only his tighty-whities and socks, being pursued by Pitt, who is clearly unable to keep up on foot, while Clooney tries to intercept the kid in his car, only to inadvertently run him down, though only in a glancing blow, enough for our two heroes to eventually stop him and get the story behind why he was carrying four bricks of heroin and who they belonged to -- that whole scenario was hilarious.
It's classified as a crime, thriller on IMDB. Well maybe, but I think it should be billed as comedic crime, thriller. Again, too many funny lines and scenes to mention. I give it a 7.5 for entertainment value. The 6.5 score on IMDB leads me to believe that's weighted by clueless Gen-Zers.
