I don't know if people remember this race, but Mansell was given a black flag for reversing his car in the pitlane. He however continued the race and resulted in a collision with Senna. Not very cool.
Also, during this race, the Minardi team led their one and only lap of their F1 career.
I remember this race well indeed Xav.
The entire 1989 season was one of missed opportunities for Senna, he managed to DNF a number of times for a variety of reasons which all combined to him missing out on the WDC.
Nice to see Martini in the lead in his Minardi, they were very racy back then, I think he qualified around 3rd for the Spanish GP a week later?
