Senna snubbed from the Oscar list!

Question of the day: Senna movie was snubbed from the Best Documentary Oscar list because of the Academy´s stupidity or the Academy´s incompetency? Probably both...

reply

not a surprise. If it had been a documentary on gay midgets it would have been a sure thing... but the awards tend to go to obscure and twisted films, any mainstream documentary that actually performs well enough to get an audience will never get a nomination.

Balestre family probably has some contacts in Holywood. But they will never surpress the truth. Money can't buy the truth. Prost acknowledged this. Balestre not, he was quoted in 2006 saying Shumacher in McLaren days could beat Senna easily. It's a loser.

Perhaps it was because because parts of it were in 'foreign' and they didn't want to have to read subtitles!

I'm only going to say this once: stay out of Camberwick Green - Sam Tyler

reply

The omission of 'Senna' and 'The Interrupters' is an embarrassment to the Academy ... but sadly, not all that surprising.

At least it won at this week's BAFTA awards. They are more open-minded than those insular Americans!

I don't know if it's a case of America being insular, maybe, maybe not, but the Interrupters wasn't included either. I thought it had something to do with the voting system, I saw something about that but I was only half watching tbh.

Whatever the reason, no matter which documentary wins the Oscar it will be a hollow victory considering that the list of titles not nominated is more impressive than list that is lol.
