That to me, was probably one of the most memorable moments in F1 history, especially given the vastly underrated rivalry between the two. Since the mid 80's, these two had some pretty bad collisions, one that resulted in Mansell grabbing Senna's throat in the pits, during his years with Lotus. Prost loved to talk about almost coming to blows with Ayrton, but it was Mansell who actually carried out the deed. All that "blad blood" as Murray Walker called it, went out the window when Nigel gave Senna a lift, (although I heard Frank Williams was a bit annoyed that Nigel let a rival peek at the cockpit of the FW14B?). Although Mansell doesn't consider Senna as the greatest of all time, he certainly gave him top spot for being the most "ferocious" driver to protect his lead, which he did numerous times against Mansell, particularly that heart breaker in Monaco '92. One of the best duals the sport has ever seen. Just pure racing by two legendary pilots. It simply doesn't get better than that.....okay maybe in Spain '91.
