Why on Freevee?

So now we have to watch ads for a Prime Original show on top of the AP fee? Just perfect.

reply

Does AdblockPlus work to get rid of them? I've noticed You Tube has sometimes managed to stop AdblockPlus working, so surely the wizards at AP can too, ha. Though uBlock Origin often works. Hopefully one of those might work on AP.

I'll have to try it, otherwise Bosch--or any show at any time--with adverts is a no-go.

Once i got my first DVR sometime during the Reagan Administration I believe, my goal became never to see another commercial for the rest of my life.

Unlike Bosch, Legacy is not in 4K. Just 2K. Which is more annoying than the ads.

reply

Might be something wrong with your tv. It looked very HD on mine.

reply

2K is HD, but 4K is UHD.

reply

Whatever. The picture is extremely sharp. It's not as if it's a second-generation VHS tape.

It seems more and more shows/movies are going onto FreeVee. It's obviously a way for Amazon to make money with ads. I don't always mind if I come across a movie I really want to see but in a case like Bosch Legacy, when Bosch used to be free for Prime members, I find it very annoying. Line of Duty used to be on Prime but now it's on FreeVee. Thankfully I've seen all season/episodes so it doesn't affect me but that's another example of how Prime Video is changing.

I hate to complain and I'll still watch Bosch Legacy because I love the show but it does leave a bad taste.

It sucks, with long commercial breaks that cannot be avoided or fast-forwarded. It should just have stayed on Amazon Prime.

reply

Seems like if it has ads it must not be owned by Amazon any more.
Or maybe Amazon is trying out the format that might allow them to create even more content by farming out certain properties to profiteers? Just guessing.
Bosch is getting too long in the tooth, and every episode has old Tight Ass Well Liver with more and more tattoos, not to mention he doesn't walk any more, he waddles. It is sad to see.

From 2024 on Amazon Prime will feature ads, too. Freeve was just a beta test.

you just ruined my night
