Theatrical or DVD release?

I'm hoping for the former.

I read one internet article that says Lightening Entertainment did good business with The Irishman at AFM, but I've not seen anything that describes just what that good business was.

As far as I can tell, no one has released any info on whether the distributors are shooting for theatrical or DVD release. It sure seems way too good not to have a theatrical opening.

It wouldn't be the first time that an amazing movie gets shafted into a DVD release.

I hope for Walken's sake it doesn't. It'd be the 3rd one in a row for him. Might be a good thing he's headed back to Broadway in the spring.

I agree, Nomad. I noticed that there is another movie called "The Irishman" up on IMDB site now..listed as I and this one listed as "II", both releasing in 2010. I have a feeling the other one will be going straight to DVD, it is a small production. What a confusion this will cause now for movie bloggers. I hope they check the productions more carefully before releasing bad info.
