Will this movie clarify the mobs ?

I watched the new Boondock saints, all saints day last week and was totally confused knowing which was the Irish and which was the italian mob. Producers need to clarify which mob is which because there are so many mafia's today (Russian, Albanian, Italian, Irish, Jewish). If the Cleveland mob was Italian back then, why don't movie writers mention it in their script ? It's very frustrating and confusing.

Well, you might try reading the book first (To Kill an Irishman). If you're not a reader, I'm sure you can tell the difference in the film between a brooklyn/cleveland italian accent and an Irish brogue haha

The Irishman is the story of an Irish-American racketeer, an associate of the Cleveland Mafia, which was primarily Italian, and his attempts to take over when the longtime boss died. That being said, since the early 1900s, many other ethnicities have had significant involvement in the Cleveland underworld, Irish, Jewish, Black... RP

Yeah, there is/was no "irish mob". The "mob" is the "mafia", which is Italian.

In Cleveland, like many other cities, the "mob" was Italian after 1900. However, "associates" could be jewish, irish or slavic. There were, however, (in Cleveland) alcoves ruled by "gangs" of Irishmen, poles, blacks and jews. But they all "kicked up" to the mob after 1900.

Lock yourself in your bedroom with a stack of books and a pair of tweezers. Once your IQ exceeds 60, and your pube count totals more than 5, come back here and re-evaluate everything you just wrote.

What did I say that makes me a "dunce"?

the characters should wear shirts that either say "irish" or "italian."

Hehe, yeah the Irish have a shamrock, the I-ties have a sausage with two meatballs.

If you really found this confusing, I suggest you stick to Transformers or Sex in the City.
