He asked for a soda?
Only thing about this movie that bothered me. It's called pop in NE Ohio. lol

shareBut there's an even more important reality check: The Irish have a reputation for being boozers. An Irishman wouldn't ask for a soda or pop or any form of soft drink whatsoever - they would demand alcohol.(Or is that just the Irish backpackers who work with me?)
shareThis goes back to the lack of character development in the film. Danny Greene was very self conscious about how he looked, and also had a very strict diet of fish, vegetables, and vitamin supplements, and quit drinking and smoking as he got older.. Hence him asking for a soda. During another scene you see him taking a vitamin. But this film never really does anything to let you know any of this.
" I intend to live forever......So far, so good."
I noticed in one scene he took his own homemade teabag to a coffee shop/restaurant. Was that his own special blend?
shareactually, this is mentioned in the film -- when asking for the soda he explains he quit drinking. the OP just wasn't paying attention.
