Wedding Coordinator Georgia was a bit much

It looks as if I must be the only one here who found Chenoweth's character to be annoying and over the top.

I mean really, she has a grand entrance at the rehearsal dinner and the guests all applaud? the coordinator is supposed to be a behind the scenes presence, not egotistical and attention-mongering at SOMEBODY ELSE'S WEDDING.

And what about the dance studio scene, wow, you'd think it was her personal debut on Broadway. A very "look at me everybody" moment for sure.

IMO the writers included her because they or the producer was such a huge fan of Chenoworth's that they had to find a way to fit her into the film. They did a poor job IMO.

totally agree. as i was watching the movie i kept asking myself what was the point of georgia being in the movie. i was expecting for some major plot point to hinge on her, but it didn't. she was just filler, and i hate filler in a movie.

one possible reason for her flamboyance and over-the-top dance number could be kristen chenoweth's background on broadway.

and you are so right about the job of a wedding coordinator. it's not about her/him, even for a coordinator who puts together celebrity weddings as georgia did.

As much as I loev Kristen Chenowith (and I really, really, really do) the poor writing made her character completely irrelevant. as someone else mentioned, there should have been a plot device which hinged on her character in the final act. But there wasn't. Lame.
