Cute movie but too many memory lapses. How could Gail and Mona not have a thought that they might know each other? How did Will not know one of the cheerleaders in high school?

Mona was completely absorbed in herself and Gail was absorbed in how perfect Joanna was. Though honestly, Gail did know that Joanna and Marni knew each other, just not the specifics as to HOW.
As to why Will didn't know Joanna as a cheerleader, she was a sophomore when he was a senior. How many sophomores did YOU know as a senior? I can tell you that I didn't know most of them when I was a senior, as they were underclassmen. Seniors rarely pay attention to the goings-on of freshmen and sophomores. Hell, the juniors are still relatively unknown to them.
