They also showed Marni and him in the tree house, him asking who this built was and Marni not wanting to tell him because she felt she had to stand up for herself. That's why he was never fully informed on who exactly was bullying him. And he was what, 2 years older? And popular asa basketball star... He didn't have time to notice a sophomore cheer leader.
