The Evil 'Thing' (Spoilers!)

(1) Is it just me or did the sounds the attacker/stalker made sound oddly like a Predator? It's like they just stole the sound file from an AVP film and stuck it in there for the hell of it. I'm assuming it's to make us wonder who or what the attacker/stalker was.

(2) For those hating the ending, please consider that the director himself stated that it's meant to invoke that fear or not knowing who it is or what they did to the victims. He based it on a childhood experience of his when he was 10; someone knocked on the door when he and a friend were home alone and didn't answer when they asked who it was. Again, the person knocked. They asked again. No answer. It's terrifying in a sense to not know the simplest of details.

Personally, I liked the movie. It was a bit boring at first, but I was intrigued once the drama set in with the possibility of a stalker and it just grew and grew until the end, knowing the five of them were doomed. I wish the director would've added a bit more at the end. I would've loved knowing what happened to them, as well as knowing whether or not the stalker was fully human or some sort of monster.

Regardless, not everyone has the same taste in movies and I see most people who bother to post here seem to hate it. I guess not everyone can have such an open mind.

I very much enjoyed this movie too. I prefer this to the slasher/blood/gore movies & the people were very natural in their acting that you could well believe they were real friends on a weekend away.

I thought it built up suspense & tension, especially when the knocking at the door started-the scariest part in movies is not knowing who is there. It is frustrating not finding out what happened to them or who the stalker was but obviously we are not meant to know.
