Why did Boris blow the hole in the prison?

Did he do it for him to escape or did he do it for the guards to be sucked into the vacuum of space?

reply

Strange question. He blew the hole for the guards to be sucked into the space vacuum. How he escaped isn't necessary to know since they didn't show it.

What I meant was that he needed to get out of the building. He had to somehow get out of the building. So did he blow the hole to get out of the building or to kill the guards?

reply

I think he did it both to rid his way of the guards and escape.

Totally agree. By the way can you also answer my other question? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1409024/board/thread/217917822

Ok. Did Boris know that if he blew the hole that the guards would be killed?

Of course. But let me ask you this. When he blew the hole did he know that this would jeopardize his girlfriend's life?

He couldn't hold her back. He only had one arm.

Of course. But you know what I realized? Because he went back in time and rewrote history she was saved because she never broke him out. However, if everything went according to plan, she would die anyway because his species would invade earth. See my point?

Well buddy this is what it really is. I like movies that have a very evil villain and I just want to make sure that Boris is very evil. That's all. Okay?

Well, his species in general were not evil because they did what they did to survive. But he was evil because he wanted his species survival in the expense of other planets. So yes that's very evil. He was evil and greedy. He supported his species in the expense of other planets. So that's definitively evil.

You have to be a troll, or reeeaally slow in the head. These are the dumbest questions. As you can see, he shot a hole in the wall, the guards flew out of it to their deaths and then he jumped out of it. He needed to escape and kill the guards, so he accomplished both of those tasks. How is there any confusion to this???

As for the girl, he just wanted her to bring his hand weapon that was hidden in the cake. Once that happened he had no more use for her. He didn't care for her or even try to save her.

reply

You are 100% right my friend. I always knew that but I just wanted to confirm. He did it for both reasons. I just wanted to confirm that. By the way do you think that he was evil or misunderstood? I am saying misunderstood because he just wanted his species to survive. But on the other hand he was evil because he wanted his species to survive in the expense of other planets.

Evil is relative. To Boris and his people they were not evil. To the rest of the galaxy they were evil, because in order to survive they were killing whole planets full of intelligent beings.

As an example, think of a shark. The shark only wants to eat, but it has to kill other fish in order to live. To the other fish the shark is evil, but the shark doesn't think of himself as evil.

In the natural world, we talk about the "food chain," which has to do with which species eat which other species. It's a fact of life that some animals have to kill other animals for food, but the species that get eaten don't like the species that are killing them.
