Why did J say that lastnight was a long long time ago?

Why did he say that? What did he mean?

reply

Two things. One, he just came back from 1969. But mostly I think he's talking about the fact that now he knows how his father died and that K didn't just randomly pick him one day to join MiB but secretly watched over him as a surrogate father most of his life because he felt responsible for his father's death.

Why did K feel responsible about James' father death? It was Boris who killed him. Not K. Why did he feel responsible?

Survivor's Guilt?

All the events that J participated in since the previous night when K sent him away and Boris succeeded in going back in time and killing K probably took a lot longer than the actual night, because he wakes up the next day and finds that K does not exist, goes back in time to 1969 and saves K and help saves the planet from Boris's species, finds out how his father dies, and then returns to his own new timeline, without any additional time having passed in the new current timeline. So he basically had at least a whole day tacked onto his night and he found out a lot of stuff.

Does it mean that last night they were still in 1969?
